The past autumn and winter have left a total rainfall of around 250 liters and a water height in the lagoon of about 40 centimeters.
With the temperatures already higher and more stable, the flamingos begin the nesting ritual for another year. Young flamingos have to find their partner. For this they concentrate in large groups and, as if it were a dance, they stretch their long necks, moving their heads and opening their wings to show themselves to their opposite. It is known in Spanish as "cortejo" (courtship).
At the moment, the lake appears as a picture with thousands of pinkish white dots, each time with greater concentration.
The cycle of what will be a new life begins. We welcome this majestic animal, the greater flamingo.
