In recent weeks, rainfall has left 236 mm (liters per square meter) in the lagoon, with which the height of the water in its center is 40 centimeters.

With these conditions, the flamingos have begun to arrive in quantity at the Laguna de Fuente de Piedra and are beginning their nesting ritual in which the young are looking for a partner. Concentrating in large groups, they stretch out their long necks, move their heads, and spread their wings to show themselves . This is what we know as the flamingo courtship (cortejo in Spanish).

We can also see many other species of birds in the lake, both resident and passing through, such as northern shoveler, mallard, avocet, black-winged stilt, glossy ibis, red-crested pochard, white-headed duck...
