19 January 2022 As every year these great travelers, the cranes, return from northern Europe to their wintering places, to Fuente de Piedra. These birds arrive in mid-October and leave at the end of February.

The cranes eat in the fields around the lake, cereal areas, and they go to rest and sleep inside the lake.

It is spectacular to see them fly in a group every afternoon to the resting place with that striking sound that they emit, the trumpeting.

If you want to enjoy these beautiful birds and learn more about them, come to the Lake of Fuente de Piedra with one of our guided tours. Every day at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., prior reservation.

In addition to cranes, you can now also see flamingos and other birds. With the rainfall that is expected from now on, the birds will begin to come in greater numbers to the lake.
